YouTube is launching a new feature for YouTube channels called Handles. This is a new feature designed for creators.
YouTube gives each channel a unique handle, which is displayed on the channel page and short videos and is designed to be used alongside the channel name.
Handles appear on your channel page and short videos, so they’re instantly recognizable and consistent. It’s instantly easier and faster to mention each other in comments, community posts, video descriptions, and more. For example, creators can shout out in mentions in comments or tag them with the title of their recent collaboration to help raise awareness and reach new audiences.Join as another way to identify your YouTube channel We handle channel names, but unlike channel names, handles are unique to each channel, allowing creators to further establish a unique presence and brand on YouTube.
We’ll let you know when creators can choose their channel handles in the next month. In most cases, if your channel already has a personalized URL, it will automatically become the default handle. Alternatively, you can change the channel’s handle upon notification in YouTube Studio.
