MediaTek has announced its latest mobile smartphone processor, the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, designed for 5G smartphones.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 is the successor to the Dimensity 920 with improved performance.
“Continuing MediaTek’s legacy of optimizing power and performance, the Dimensity 1080 offers a full suite of advanced features that challenge expectations of what a 5G smartphone can do.” It’s designed to enhance many of the features that made its predecessor so great, including processing power, camera and video quality, and time-to-market for manufacturers.”
The Dimensity 1080 features an upgraded octa-core CPU, with two Arm Cortex-A78 CPU cores running at up to 2.6 GHz paired with an Arm Mali-G68 GPU, allowing users to power up whether they are gaming, streaming or browsing. You get faster performance, even when you’re doing His 6nm design for the chipset offers a number of power saving benefits that extend battery life.
Supporting a 200MP main camera and MediaTek’s Imagiq image signal processor (ISP), the Dimensity 1080 is equipped with all the latest camera features users need to take ultra-high quality photos and videos. Additionally, the chipset integrates a hardware-accelerated HDR video recording engine to handle up to 4K resolutions and deliver superior streamer-generated video capture results in any lighting conditions.
