The Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council (HPRC) is excited to welcome Wiicare as its newest member. Wiicare, an amalgamation of the Wipak and Winpak organizations, is a manufacturer of healthcare packaging materials such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals and sterile barrier packaging.
HPRC Director Peylina Chu said: “They are actively working towards circular solutions for their packaging materials, including including recycled content throughout their product line. It is central and very much aligned with the HPRC mission and vision of enabling plastics recycling solutions in healthcare.”
Wiicare’s sustainability focus includes sourcing less energy-intensive raw materials. Minimize the use of raw materials. recycling waste; and driving our business with green energy sources. The company’s goal is to become the world’s first carbon neutral flexible packaging company.

HPRC is currently working on multiple initiatives aimed at enabling the recycling of healthcare plastics. Researching reverse logistics processes for collecting, sorting, and preparing medical plastic waste for transport. We focus on outreach and engagement with recyclers.
