Utica, NY — Senator Joseph Griffo of RIC Rome today announced that it is partnering with the Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority, Confidata, the State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Oneida County Sewer District to host an electronics recycling event. Saturday, October 22nd
The free event will be held from 10am to 2pm at the Oneida-Herkimer Recycling Center at 80 Leland Avenue Extension, Utica. Members of the public may bring electronic devices such as televisions, computers, and other electronic devices. See www.ohswa.org for a complete list of acceptable items.
Confidata also shreds up to three boxes of sensitive documents per vehicle. The State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Oneida County Sewer District collect unused or unwanted prescription drugs. Sharp objects and needles are not allowed.
“This is an important opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted electronics, medicines and documents,” said Griffo. “I would like to thank the Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority, Confidata, the State Conservation Department and the Oneida County Sewer District for partnering with me again on this upcoming event.”
A previous recycling event hosted by Senator Griffo generated more than 500,000 pounds of waste. The number of electronic devices that are recycled.
