New Rochelle, NY — A calendar mix-up has created confusion about when mixed recycling is brought to the curb for pickup in New Rochelle.
The recycling calendar has changed for the new year. Unfortunately, the calendar that was mailed to our home in New Rochelle accidentally contained incorrect information. The schedule has an incorrect paper rotation and a mix of recycle pickups.
To mitigate the error, the city’s public works department has made some changes to the January pick-up schedule to ensure everyone’s availability.
- Since Monday is a consecutive holiday this week, we will be collecting used paper and garbage in the North End on Thursday and South End on Friday for the second week in a row.
- For the next two weeks, mixed recycling will take place throughout the city.
- The alternate schedule will resume on Wednesday, January 25th, beginning with paper pick-up.
A replacement calendar will be posted in the city newsletter and mailed to all homes later this month. In the meantime, the DPW schedule can be accessed online at www.newrochelleny.com/DPW.
