Carson, California — The Metropolitan Water District is responsible for importing water from the Colorado River system and state water projects in northern California.

However, these imported water sources are under severe pressure from ongoing drought and the long-term threat of climate change.

MWD has been working on a new and reliable source of water called the Pure Water Southern California Recycling Program that turns clarified wastewater into high quality drinking water.

MWD is soliciting public comments on the project until November 14th.
