Minot, North Dakota (KFYR) – Minot residents are getting closer and closer to the city’s first on-street recycling program.
The program could start as early as July. A transfer facility is being built on the landfill and the structure was closed this week. Once the work is complete, city officials collect the recyclables, transport them to a transfer facility, and load trucks to the Minneapolis facility.
All City of Minot Sanitation customers will receive a 95-gallon container before the program begins.
Residents who don’t want the service to continue can opt out, as the recycling fee of about $3 will not be charged for the first two months of the service.
