Manhattan, Kansas (WIBW) – Manhattanites may continue to take out their living Christmas trees for recycling.
City officials offer drop-off locations in Longs Park through the end of January. You will be asked to remove any decorations or lights before bringing them into the area. The city says trees are not safe just lying around people’s homes.
“A major part of our focus here is to give people something to do with Christmas trees. Be willing to move out of the house and give them some incentives that they can change.Forest Manager J. David Mattox said:
Longs Park is near 16th Street in Colorado and Manhattan. The city turns this tree into mulch for local parks and trails.
