    FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The time is running out before political campaign billboards must be taken down. In fact, Caltrans says political billboards must be removed “within 10 days after the election.”

    A local company is playing a role in helping dispose of them.

    Friday start signs for all races on Tuesday will be taken to the Cedar Avenue Recycling Transfer Station (CARTS) location at 3457 South Cedar Avenue in Fresno, just off Highway 99 in Fresno, for free recycling, according to Caglia Environmental. may be

    Company spokesperson Casarra Aragon said the company accepts signs made of paper, corrugated plastic and vinyl, and can even recycle metal stakes, but prefers wooden posts for recycling. She adds that she cannot accept it.

    Signs of all sizes and shapes are accepted and there is no limit to how many you can drop.

    Kalia has been recycling old campaign signs for several years for national, state and local races.

    Campaign signs can be taken down Monday through Friday from 7am to 4pm and Saturday from 7am to 2:30pm.
