“As members and leaders of our shared Framingham community, we believe that small changes in our daily habits can make a difference. We started the project “Table to Farm” to expand organic recycling. When 8 or more people sign up for Black Earth Compost’s Organic Recycling Service update, the overall cost/neighbour of Black Earth Compost (BEC) services is reduced by 30%. Signing up is free,” said the organizers.

What is organic recycling? how to get started
discussion
Why is organic recycling important? Small steps can have a big impact.
Our climate crisis has many components, including the use of landfills. It deprives natural wildlife habitat, pollutes water sources and most importantly produces high levels of methane and carbon dioxide. Not only is air quality adversely affected, but landfill space is rapidly running out. All landfills currently in use in Massachusetts cities and towns face closure by 2030, according to current estimates.

・Reduces dangerous gas generated from rotting food waste
Can be converted into a fertilizer that promotes healthy plant growth and creates beneficial compost that sequesters CO2 while acting as a natural water filter
“We are working with Black Earth Compost to make more accessible compost in Framingham. can be composted,” said the organizers.
