TOKYO — Bridgestone plans to complete the development of a new technology for recycling tires as early as 2030 to reduce carbon emissions in the automotive supply chain.
The Tokyo-based company aims to use a chemical recycling process that breaks down tire materials down to the molecular level for reuse. First, the tire is melted, and a temperature-controlled catalyst is used to break down the compound.
