Officials in Bethlehem have launched a bid for a new recycling contract. They confirm that street collection costs significantly more.
Community and Economic Development Mayor Laura Collins shared the news with the city council on Tuesday night.
The lower bid, which is set to be submitted for congressional approval on Nov. 15, is about 53.5% or $600,000 more annually than the about $1.12 million the city will pay this year, Collins said.
