ALBERTVILLE, Alabama — Starting December 1, the Albertville Boas Recycling Center will no longer collect excess cardboard from residents’ streets.
“These routes are for household recycling of items placed in blue recycling bags,” the news release said.
“I only pick up small broken boxes.”
If residents have excess cardboard, they have two options for proper disposal.
Option 1 – Drop off at the recycling center during business hours Monday 7:30am to 4:30pm and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7:30am to 12:00pm.
Option 2 – Collect all cartons and call 256-891-8298 to schedule a pickup.
Recycling center officials said Wednesday will be designated as a cardboard collection day, but only if residents call to make an appointment.
Collected cardboard should be free of debris such as plastic and Styrofoam. Only cardboard will be accepted.
Blue/clear bags will only be picked up on curbside routes. If you run out of blue bags, call 256-894-0899 and they will be delivered on Resident Route pickup day.
We do not accept black bags.
The recycling center calls on residents to take out their recycling bags and collect them by 6:30 a.m. on the collection day. Residents are not advised to leave their bags a few days in advance. For more information on these changes, please call 256-891-8298.
