A 16-act variety show is rarely produced by locals for locals for the sole purpose of having fun and building community. The performers are singers, dancers, comedians, musicians, and magicians, with plenty of ad-libbed humor.
It’s the brainchild of Sun Lakes resident magician Ray Texeira, who has produced his own stage magic shows in the past and performed here in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Hawaii. intervened.
“After my last magic show at Sunlakes, I realized that there were a lot of people who wanted to get on stage and show off their stuff. I also know that there are many people in the community who would like to be involved in something like this and who are interested and have the time to volunteer. We have 20 people participating.It’s a great catalyst for building a community.”
The main goal of this project is to provide the audience with a complete talent show experience, including audition/knockout rounds and audience voting, as well as a panel of judges voting for the top contenders to win prizes at the grand finale show.
“We are delighted to announce that Scottsdale’s signature model and talent agency will be joining the jury for Wednesday’s ‘Audition/Knockout’ event. The judges’ votes will be tallied along with the audience votes. I think agencies might be surprised by the talent of local performers. ”
The audition/knockout show will take place on February 15th, at which point the audience and judges will vote on acts that advance to the Grand Finale. The grand finale show will take place on his February 18th, with prizes awarded to the top acts chosen by the judges.

Tickets are available now – two shows for the price of one. To purchase tickets, visit eventbrite.com and enter Sun Lakes Talent Show in the ‘search area’ or google ‘Sun Lakes Talent Show’ and click on the Eventbrite site.
Ticket price of $17.50 includes service charge and includes admission to both shows. The site can automatically select the “best table” or patrons can select seats at specific tables. The system assigns or requires the purchaser to select a specific seat, but the purchase is made at 10 reserved tables rather than a specific seat.
This work is a non-commercial endeavor and not a charity event. All sponsorship money minus expenses will be awarded to performers as prizes.
