Madison (WKOW) — Owning a home can require a lot of maintenance, including the need to remove clutter and junk that may be strewn around the house.
Some removal services can move unwanted appliances, electronics, and more.
“If you try to remove it yourself, you can damage the floors and walls,” says Neal Stake, director of operations at Two Men and a Truck. “The key is to plan ahead so whoever comes can get them for you.”
Such things require some planning and research on your part. If you call a removal company, find out how much it will cost to remove it. You also need to consider what you can do and what you need the company to do for you and whether you are willing to pay for it.
“Sometimes time is the biggest piece you need, and calling someone and calling a professional to take it off can save you a lot of time,” says Stake. “Often, in less than an hour, he can remove an entire truck of junk.”
When garden waste must be removed, it is often based on local ordinances.
“Some things can be put on the edge of the road, but even junk removal can take them,” Stake said.
In most cases, companies will not remove the hazardous materials. This is something homeowners have to deal with themselves.
