October 31st may mark the end of “spooky season,” but it’s also the start of National Veteran Small Business Week. His JDog Junk Removal and Hauling, a local franchise, does what it takes to take out the trash and allow veterans to haul it in one piece at a time.

Mark Warner enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 19. For ten years he was stationed around the world and after serving in the Gulf War he left the military.

“When you’re in the military, you hang out with like-minded people. Everyone is trained the same way, and when you leave the military, you don’t fit in,” he explained.

After leaving the military and working for a company for 30 years, Warner decided it was time for a change. That’s when he found JDog.

β€œI saw the mission to reduce the veteran unemployment rate to less than 1% and the atmosphere of a military home, all of which really drew me to JDog.”

Warner owns JDogs in Chattanooga and Cleveland. A full-service junk removal company that hauls just about anything.

“We work really hard. We do a lot of nasty work, but it’s very rewarding,” he said.

Veteran franchise owners prefer to hire other veterans.

β€œMany veterans get lost when they leave the military and don’t know what to do. If you want to join JDog when you leave the military, find a place. You can be with people you can relate to.”

This National Veteran Small Business Week, Warner wants people to keep one thing in mind.

“Veterans, especially veterans, have been through a lot, but people are out there and they don’t understand and they never understand, so try to understand where they come from and give them a break. , take them home.”
