Proud 2M4.
1990. I’m his senior year in college and have an 86 Fiero 2M4. There was no air conditioner, so I got it cheaply. I’m from Virginia, but went to college up north and drove in the snow for his 4 years (his father learned to drive in Erie, PA).
A friend ruined a ride to campus.He found a VA tag and found out it was rear-wheel drive and was worried.He said things like “Does it snow in Virginia?” I asked a question. I decided to drive without answering.
For 10 minutes the drive is uneventful. The roads were smooth, but the 2M4 couldn’t spin the bald tires covered in bacon grease on the hockey rink. So the drive is peaceful. When the passenger relaxed, I pulled him this stunt.
* About 20 mph on slush covered roads (4-6 inches of slush)
*We felt the front end get lighter and rise from the Slash wedge.
* I started slowing down, but decided to have fun instead.
* I shot it and the car was going about 30 mph and wedging under the front end.
* Passengers noticed that we were accelerating as we approached an intersection where they should turn left.he began to express his concerns
* When his concern turned to panic, I turned the steering wheel hard to the left.
*Since the front tires are not paved, the wheels spin like spinning tops.
* I yelled, “I don’t have a handle. What should I do?”
* When passengers start yelling “Slow down!” stepped on the brakes.
* A wedge of snow popped out from under the car, the front tire touched the ground, and the car turned almost exactly 90 degrees.
* I was still about 100 feet from my turn, but 90 degrees ahead of my path of travel.
*Took turns with gas. The more the passenger screamed, the more I intentionally moved the car closer to the curb on his side.
And that’s how I stopped people getting off of me on campus.
This seems like a great way to set up large drifts. It’s also a great way to suddenly keep all your friends busy whenever you want to hang out.
