Garbage collection rate
Starting May 1, 2022, the monthly fee will increase from $18.75 to $30.46. The services we provide (recycling, bulk, garbage collection) remain unchanged. Also, there is no change in the payment method. Included in monthly utility bills.
Overview of rate changes
The monthly garbage collection rate has remained unchanged for over 11 years. This is no longer sustainable as the costs of products, labor and services are rising. This adjustment is necessary to offset the increased costs associated with waste collection.
The new rates are in line with what neighboring cities pay for waste collection, with the added bonus that Miramar has no limits on mass collection.
toll collection
The garbage collection fee will continue to be included in your monthly water/utility bill. It will continue to appear as “Home Sanitation”.
