To strengthen the Four Oaks area of Carrollwood, Hillsborough County offers free curbside pickup of junk and debris.

“What a community looks like can affect how residents feel. Illegal dump sites and rule violations can affect the health, safety and property values of entire neighborhoods,” the county said. said in a news release.

Starting Friday, residents can place furniture, junk, debris, metal, electronics, and up to 5 tires on curbs. The county’s so-called rapid response team carries off the items. Discarded items must be on the curb by 5 a.m. Collection continues through Friday, March 4.

The area served is bounded by Lowell Road to the north, Gunn Highway to the south, Pittsfield Avenue/Timberlan Sports Complex to the east, and Waltham Avenue to the west.

Cleanups are funded by annual solid waste assessments paid by property owners. Hillsborough County Code Enforcement said it encouraged residents to use the service to restore property to avoid breaking the rules.

Yard waste, commercial vehicle tires, and hazardous chemicals are unacceptable. For more information, call (813) 352-2473.
