SEATTLE — Seattle Utilities announced it will resume residential trash, recycling, food and waste collection in Seattle on Monday, January 3, but icy roads in the neighborhood remain dangerous and We have determined that some customer delays are continuing.
Collection services were suspended during the week of December 27 due to potential public safety risks due to inclement weather.
Garbage, recyclables, and compost should be put out on the regular collection day. If not, please put them out the next day. If you miss Friday customers, lock out the carts on Saturday.
Customers who skipped last week can put out twice as much trash, recycle and compost on the regular collection day at no additional charge. Recycle pick-up will be attempted for all customers even outside of normal collection weeks, but SPU stated that contractors may not be able to collect all customers’ off-week recycle. I’m here.
Transfer stations and domestic hazardous waste disposal facilities are open during normal hours.
Solid waste collection has returned to normal this week. A customer who missed last week can put out twice as much garbage, recycle and compost as he normally does on collection day (no extra charge). *Includes recycling collection, even if it’s not a normal week. pic.twitter.com/aztnbELERh
