A little over a week ago, on May 24, 2022, the popular comedian, The Tonight Show Jimmy Fallon talked about the all-new Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck at the show. It was clear that Jimmy didn’t know enough about the track before he shared it with the world, but that doesn’t matter.
You don’t have to fully understand EVs to enjoy their benefits. Many petrol car owners wonder how their car performs, how efficient it is, how much range it has, or many other details that don’t affect the nature of everyday driving. I have no clue about
Fallon begins the segment by stating that he’s talked about the F-150 Lightning before, but apparently not in as much detail. called a truck. Fallon says he owns a petrol-powered F-150 pickup and uses it to “carry pumpkins” and “listen to country music,” but plans to switch to the all-electric version in the future. seems to be considering
Jimmy goes on to say that Ford has taken the electric F-150 to the next level and has received excellent reviews. He adds that “10 kilowatts of power is being supplied,” which is somewhat correct. Lightning offers battery packs with up to 131 kWh of energy and can deliver up to 9.6 kilowatts of power. This means that you can power your entire home for several days.
As the segment continues, Jimmy talks about the Lightning’s 4.6-second zero to 60 mph time, its power outlets, giant touch screen, spacious cabin, and more. However, he seems to have been most impressed with his F-150 Lightning’s Mega Power Flank. Jimmy admits he doesn’t know where Ford put the engine, but explains to Lighting that “the engine is gone, so there’s a trunk in the front.”
According to Jimmy, there is already a Swedish pop duo named Frünké who wrote a song about the F-150 Lightning titled “Junk in My Frunk”. Of course, in the usual Jimmy Fallon style, the host actually does both roles in the music video himself. To be clear, no Swedish pop duo. Everything is an act and worth a visit.
The song gives the listener an idea of the different uses of Frank in the F-150 Lightning. Whether you’re a Fallon fan or not, or love the song, it’s this type of “advertising” that helps bring EVs into the mainstream at a faster rate.
I think most people who visit our site have some knowledge of EVs, but many still don’t have a clue. But seeing their favorite celebrities and athletes driving the adoption of EVs may start to pique their interest. Check out the video, then start a conversation in the comments section below.
