(WKBN) – It’s time to get rid of your Christmas tree until next year. That’s why Express Junk Removal is offering a free Christmas tree pick-up next week.
The junk removal company will serve residents of Trumbull and Mahoning counties next Wednesday and Thursday.
The requirements are that the tree should be kept by the curb, should not be flocked, and should be free of ornaments, lights and decorations.
Last year, the company saved about 300 trees from landfills. This year, the company hopes to double that number.
“Maybe a lot of people don’t have trucks or don’t want to deal with pine needles all over their cars, so we thought it would be nice to give back to the community,” says Express Junk Removal. says Melanie Stanko of
To ensure they are environmentally friendly, all trees are sent to Mahoning County’s Green Team to be used as natural fish habitat.
You can sign up at the Express Junk Removal website. The company does not accept calls.
