College Station City Council was asked to provide space for the proposed “Grand Junk Museum.”
Hullabaloo Diner owner Eric Schulte says American Pickers has seen some of the more than 500 items he’s collected from Hollywood since the 1960s.
Schulte says it can contain 10,000 to 20,000 square feet of buildings, movie props and wardrobes, vintage cars, jukeboxes and unidentified items he says are “extremely important” to Texas A&M. .
Schulte also includes diners among its collectibles. The diner has been featured in his two episodes of Diners’ Drive-In’s and Dives, and will also feature in his Dennis Quaid movie due out next year.
He wants volunteers to run the facility, with proceeds going to public utilities and local nonprofits.
Because Schulte made his request in the public comment portion of the council meeting, state law prevented the council from responding.
