PETERSBURG, Virginia (WWBT) – The City of Petersburg plans to give residents the opportunity to get rid of unwanted junk such as unwanted trash, appliances and other bulky items.
Household garbage, furniture, white goods, carpets, garbage, grass, fallen leaves, brushes, etc. Prohibited items include hazardous/toxic waste, batteries, engine oils, paints, cleaning agents, herbicides/pesticides, liquids of any kind, tires, computers, monitors, printers or televisions.
Residents can unload the junk as many times as they like, as long as they can fit as much junk as they can fit in their pickup truck.
The event is free and open to all Petersburg residents only. Commercial carriers and contractors are prohibited.
The cleanup sites listed below will be open Saturday, October 22nd from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
- Site 1: Reizei Elementary School 1450 Tully Ave (Parking lot opposite the school)
- Site 2: Pleasants Lane 100 Pleasants Lane (parking)
- Site 3: Peabody Middle School 725 Wesley Street (Halifax Road to parking lot)
- Site 4: Pitman Annex parking lot 35 Pine Street (wise street lot)
- Site 5: blandford school 816 E Bank Street (parking)
- Site 6: Legends Park 1937 Johnson Road (recreational parking lot)
