SCOR has announced the appointment of Emma Bartolo (pictured above) as Global Segment Leader for its Environmental Liability (EIL) insurance portfolio.
Bartolo joined the company in February and will be based in London. She will report to Marie Biggas, Chief Underwriting Officer for SCOR UK and active underwriter for SCOR Syndicate, and Daniel Carreras, Global Head of Specialty and Property and Casualty Insurance.
Bartolo joined from Chubb, most recently as Corporate Regional Manager in London. Prior to that, he held a number of senior positions at Chubb, including Environmental Risk Manager in the UK and Ireland. A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, Bartolo chaired Chubb’s Gender Equality Network.
Prior to entering the insurance industry, he worked as a consultant for WSP Environment and Energy and as the Technical Director for Contaminated Lands for Manchester City Council. According to SCOR, she has authored numerous industry publications on environmental insurance and she is considered a leader in the field. She holds an MA in Pollution and Environmental Control and a BA in Geology and Geography from the University of Manchester.
