QED Environmental Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of innovative environmental products and a subsidiary of Graco Inc, has launched a new aggressive liquid landfill liquid pump for a variety of applications, including mining.
The AutoPump® Ultra 4+ Aggressive Fluid Duty Landfill Fluid Pump features upgraded materials that extend the pump’s service life and expand its use cases to a wider range of conditions.
The stainless steel parts of the pump have been upgraded to grade 316 to dramatically improve corrosion resistance. The non-metallic internal parts, on the other hand, are polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF), a high-quality engineering plastic that maintains high strength at high temperatures and has very broad chemical resistance. These components allow the new pump to withstand the acidic and oxidizing cleaning agents that are sometimes used for pump maintenance.
According to the company, AutoPump Ultra 4+ Aggressive Fluids pumps have a patented design for lasting chemical resistance in many challenging scenarios. Specifically, it can provide reliability and safety in the following difficult conditions: Pumping landfill leachate and methane condensate. Solvent (dissolved phase and DNAPL) cleanup. suspended solids, silt and corrosives; high viscosities; high temperatures; and frequent starts and stops.
Available as a 4 inch (102 mm) lower inlet or 4 inch upper inlet, it can withstand temperatures up to 180°F (82°C). It has a maximum fluid viscosity of 1,000 centistokes, a maximum depth of 250 feet (76 m), and a flow rate range of 6 to 14 gallons per minute (23 to 53 liters per minute).
