Midterms came and went. And because we have to count all Some of the votes are still open. However, here are some quick environmental tips.
There were only two major state initiatives on energy and the environment this year.
First, New York State’s $4.2 billion measure is split as follows:
- $500 million Electrifying school buses.
- $400 million For green building projects.
- $1.1 billionTo recovery and flood risk mitigation, recovery and coastline restoration projects.
- $650 million Towards open space land conservation and recreation.
- $650 million For improved water quality and resilient infrastructure.
New York voters approved the bill on Tuesday.
California voters rejected Proposition 30 to fund.Zero-emission vehicle infrastructure and a wildfire prevention initiative by imposing an additional income tax on the highest-income Californians.

Here are the re-elected governors who have pledged to take positive action on climate change:
- Gavin Newsom (California Democrat)
- Cathy Hochul (DY)
- Gretchen Whitmer (Democrat, Michigan)
- Janet Mills (Democrat, Maine)
- Michelle Roujan Gresham (DN.M.)
Newcomers Wes Moore (Democrat, Maryland) and Maura Healy (Democrat, Massachusetts) also make appearances.

Climate ignored in important races
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said the Warnock-Walker clash (in the lead-up to a runoff vote scheduled for Dec. 6) has given the two campaigns and their global funders a negative response. It reportedly lost $225 million in advertising-driven campaigns. But words about America’s climate future weren’t even hopeful — they didn’t enter either man’s media tactics.
And in Florida, where about 10 million residents live in communities projected to be submerged later this century, the climate has prevented much water from being pumped. Both newly-elected Republican Ron DeSantis and re-elected Republican Senator Marco Rubio are located in the doomed city just down the highway from equally doomed Mar-a-Lago. Destined to have principal residence in Dade County.
Super negative Inhofe retires

Few would dispute the unofficial title of outgoing Republican Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhoff as the alpha dog of climate denial for Capitol Hill. However, I am letting him keep his promise to interview him on November 18th, 2034.th birthday. Contact Inhofe to see how his climate “hoax” works. Inhofe turns 88 next week and has been in the Senate for 28 years.
Democrat Pat Leahy will also retire in January when the current Senate term ends. Over his 48 years, he has been passionate about environmental protection regarding acid rain and other issues.
