To create positive change and educate the community, Kimo’s Maui launches a new environmental presentation series titled “Mālama ʻĀina.”
The first free presentation on November 4th will feature a talk on humpback whales with representatives from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. It will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Kimo’s His Maui at 854 Front Street in Lahaina. Reservations are required. Call 808-661-4811.

The kickoff of the “Mālama ʻĀina” series coincides with the 30th.th It’s the anniversary of NOAA’s Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary in the Hawaiian Islands and the start of whale season.
Participants will learn about large marine mammals, the cultural importance of ocean stewardship, and reserves created to protect Hawaii’s humpback whales and their habitats through closely coordinated education, research, and resource conservation efforts .
In addition to the presentation, Keiki is invited to participate in hands-on activities such as coloring and hat making.
“Mālama ĀĀina” Series and 30 Continuationsth Presentations in January and March will focus on whale entanglement and whale research. Future events will cover other topics such as sea turtles and monk seals. For more information and dates, please visit www.kimosmaui.com.
