HARRISBURG — The Wolf Administration invites all Pennsylvanians who have recently worked on a successful environmental project to apply for the 2023 Environmental Excellence Award, the state’s highest environmental award.
If you are a Pennsylvania or Pennsylvania business, farm, government agency, educational institution, or non-profit organization that develops or participates in a project that promotes environmental protection and management within the Commonwealth, you may apply.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection oversees the award selection process, evaluating projects on eight criteria: degree of conservation, environmental justice, climate change, sustainability, partnerships, economic impact, innovation, and environmental education and outreach. Additionally, the 2023 award aims to highlight the spirit of resilience.

Projects do not have to meet all criteria to be awarded. Projects must be completed between October 4, 2021 and October 11, 2022.
DEP will be accepting applications until Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 11:59 PM.
