Euro Manganese Inc (ASX:EMN, TSX-V:EMN, OTCQX:EUMNF) has submitted a final Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for its Chvaletice manganese project to the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic.
The company also welcomes the publication of its first 2022 Sustainability Report.
Environmental and social impact
Chvaletice intends to become Europe’s only primary producer of high-purity manganese products with strong ESG credentials, poised to capitalize on the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) market.
The project is designed to meet strict European Union and Czech standards governing environmental, health and safety.
EMN’s ESIA is a major milestone in the project’s environmental permitting process. It is based on the interim ESIA reviewed by the relevant Czech ministries in 2020.
The ESIA will use the output from the preliminary ESIA and the Chvaletice Feasibility Study published in July 2022 to compile a number of environmental and social impact assessments, including dispersal studies, acoustic studies, and impacts on human health studies. taken as an input to
Euro Manganese has also taken proactive steps to engage and outline the details of the project with a number of relevant authorities and stakeholders and incorporates this feedback into the final submission.
With a focus on research quality and meeting Czech regulatory standards, the body of work the company has put into research now appears to be paying off.
This approval process is expected to take approximately six months.
First Sustainability Report
In other news, Euro Manganese has published its first sustainability report for 2022. This outlines how we are leading the way towards sustainable production of high-purity manganese for the electric vehicle industry.
