    Environmental Summit returns to Laredo College

    Laredo, Texas. (KGNS) – Nature Boys and Nature Girls took the opportunity to listen to some of the environmental issues impacting his community in Laredo.

    After a two-year hiatus, Laredo College hosted its 2022 Environmental Summit on Friday morning.

    Students from various high schools gathered at the Laredo College Kazen Center to hear from experts about the current situation and what several organizations are doing to help the ecosystem.

    According to Bianca Brewster of Laredo College’s Center for Environmental Sciences, some of the issues highlighted were invasive species.

    “These are issues that affect students for the rest of their lives, so it’s important to let students know what’s out there so they’re ready, so they can start looking for solutions. , we can start brainstorming and see if there are any careers that might be of interest to solve these problems,” said Brewster.

    Agencies participating in this event include the City of Laredo, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Department of Agriculture, and CBP, just to name a few.

    The organizers hope to hold the summit next year.
