(Sacramento, CA – October 19, 2022) – The Environmental Defense Fund has appointed Caitlin Roedner Sutter as the new California Secretary. In this role, she led and coordinated EDF and EDF Action’s political engagement and advocacy efforts in California, and oversaw the organization’s water, climate, energy and transportation policies within the state, including implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act. Support your goals. She will also deepen her EDF cooperation with key partners and stakeholders, especially in support of justice and equity.
Roedner Sutter has been with EDF for over five years, leading state-level engagements on climate policy in California and elsewhere in the western United States, and contributing to EDF’s work on international carbon markets. She co-leads the organization’s Environmental Justice Council and serves as a legislative appointee for California’s Independent Emissions Markets Advisory Board. Prior to joining EDF, Roedner Sutter led the environmental justice program for the Catholic charity in Stockton Parish.
