As another step towards its commitment to environmental conservation, the South Central Railway (SCR) Zone will expand the urban forestry of the Twin Cities area by installing the Miyawaki Plantation at the Shanti Nagar Railway Colony at Laraguda, North of Telangana, Hyderabad City. developed.
Work is being done in phases in collaboration with the non-governmental organization (NGO) Say Trees Environmental Trust.
20,000 plants over 5,400 square meters
A total of 4,300 square meters of plantation is reportedly already conceived, with work underway on the remaining 1,100 square meters, The New Indian Express reported.
20,000 plants cover an area of over 5,400 square meters. Previously, SCR had developed Miyawaki Plantation in Gadwal and Nizamabad where he planted 8,500 plants on an area of 2,300 square meters.
SCR General Manager (Responsible) Mr Arun Kumar Jain appreciated the steps taken by the Hyderabad Division team to utilize the area for environmental protection. He called on people to plant saplings in their residential areas according to their current needs and encourage their growth to create a greener and safer environment.
About Miyawaki Farm
The Miyawaki plantation or technique is advertised (after two years) as a self-sustaining and dense urban forestry system. About 50-55 species of trees are grown in varying ratios as part of the system. Native trees grow here, so the chances of survival are close to 100%.
Recently, SCR has put a special focus on the last mile connection project, having completed and commissioned the entire doubling project with electrification between Vijayawada-Gudivada-Bimavaram-Narsapur. Gudivada-Machilipatnam & Bhimavaram – Nidadavolu 221 Kms.
