The Brookhaven Environmental Center says it has received more than 45 million pounds of material so far in 2022.
A building official told News 12 that the facility will be able to produce an equivalent number of recyclable materials annually.
Officials added there was a significant increase from previous years, thanks to updated material recovery facilities.
