LEWES — Beebe Healthcare Environmental Services team member Estefania Proano was one of 10 healthcare workers in the United States and Canada who received a CAPE award from Cintas Corporation. These awards were established to recognize professionals in “cleaning that enhances the patient experience.”
Cintas recently presented a check for $2,500 to Proano and the Beebe Medical Foundation to go with a plaque commemorating the award. Beebe and Proano will be featured in celebratory ads in Times Square in the coming weeks. Over 700 candidates were considered.
Proano received multiple letters of recommendation as part of the nomination process. She was one of the first members of her Beebe team to clean a COVID-19 positive room.
“Estefania and I were the first to clean a COVID-positive room. She was fearless, patient to make sure we were safe, and of course effective in our cleaning process.” I remember,” her colleague wrote.
