TEMPE — The Seattle Seahawks aren’t the juggernaut they were a few years ago.
The Russell Wilson era ended this offseason, and the Legion of Boom ended long before that.
Chutes, even stadiums have new names.
However, one thing remains for the twelfth man.
The Lumenfield crowd poses another challenge for the Cardinals in Week 6. Arizona welcomes you.
“It’s going to be loud, but it’s always loud there,” offensive lineman Kelvin Beacham said Thursday. “It’s a great environment, it’s a hostile environment, and I’m looking forward to finding a way to come out victorious.”
“As a team, if we can get into the stadium and quiet the crowd, I think we are thriving,” Reinman added. “That’s the nature of being in the National Football League. If you walk into a hostile environment and do your best and do it consistently enough, people don’t want to play you home or away. .”
For the rest of the Cardinals, including defensive backs Byron Murphy Jr. and Buddha Baker and quarterback Kyler Murray, the trip to Seattle brings back memories of their youth.
It’s like coming home for Murphy and Baker, the latter growing up in the area and the duo both attending Washington. Murray recalls when her grandma called Seattle home.
“The crowd is always great,” Murray said Wednesday. “The traditions there are great. For me, Seattle is like my second or third home…so I always enjoy being with them.”
As a team, Arizona has been less concerned about traveling north over the last few seasons. Since 2012, the Cardinals have recorded his NFL best-six road wins at Lumenfield.
The current coaching structure is 2 to 1 heading north. Sunday’s win moved Arizona to 11-1 in its last 12 away games.
