An 11-year-old environmental activist’s mobile phone was snatched Sunday night while recording live video in Sector 16b, Greater Noida.
Activist — Licypriya Kangujam was live talking about the environment ahead of Diwali.
The cell phone was reportedly snatched by a thief who was transported by bicycle.
Kangujam posted the incident on Twitter and asked Noida police for help.
Police said Bisrakh SHO would take action and the FIR was registered.
According to DCP Central Ram Badan Singh, FIR is registered under IPC Section 392 (robbery).
Kangujam, from Manipur, has been involved in climate activism. She also spoke at the COP25 climate change conference in Madrid when she was 8 years old, most recently participated in an anti-coal protest in Chhattisgarh, and in 2020 in Washington DC. was also one of her Earth Day speakers.
