A Richmond-based trash rental company looking to franchise its business model nationally has found a large headquarters in Scott’s Addition.
Mobiledumps, which rents 14 cubic yard trash cans on wheels to residential and commercial users, moved to 3425-B W. Leigh St. earlier this week.
The 2,115 square foot space will house the company’s leadership, customer service call center and franchisee training center.
Founder and CEO Cam Morrison said he hopes the trendy Scott’s Addition neighborhood will help his future franchisees get excited about the company.

“There was really no expectation of getting it when you wanted it. It was really just that moment, especially on the residential side,” Morrison said. “The beauty of Mobiledumps and how it all started was[the solution]for weekend warriors, house cleaners dreading rollout orders.”
The company expanded to Hampton Roads in 2020 and opened an outpost in the Raleigh, North Carolina area in February. All three corporate-owned locations are slated to transition to franchises in the future.

Mobiledumps plans to have a team of about eight people at its headquarters, about half of which will attend franchisee training. He’s aiming for 10-20 franchises in the mid-Atlantic by the end of the year. The company has two of his drivers in Richmond and one of his drivers in each of the other markets.
Morrison declined to disclose how many trash bins the company currently has. He also declined to share expected franchise costs.
Two-day rentals, the company’s most popular rental period, are $299 in Richmond and $319 in other markets.
Mobiledumps is partially financially backed by Richmond-based 4848 Ventures, which invested in the company in 2019.
