Jackson County is a beautiful place that many people and a wide variety of wildlife call home.
The women of Brownstown work hard to preserve their beauty and keep the county clean.
Delaney Davidson created the Clean Our County project, asking communities to get involved and pick up roadside litter to work towards a cleaner environment.
Clean Our County participants will first meet over the weekend of Earth Day, April 22 and 23, to pick up roadside litter throughout the county, Davidson said.
“Gray Dumpster Rental, a local business in our community, is donating our dumpsters to the cause, and our ultimate goal is to keep our county clean by filling up our dumpsters so we can enjoy its beauty to the fullest. is to be able to
“Sean Malone was so kind to let me set up trash cans at his businesses, Brooklyn Pizza Company and Seymour Brewing Company (753 W. Second St., Seymour). Anyone interested in participating.” she said.
After cleaning up, volunteers can go inside Brooklyn Pizza. Here Malone offers special ticket prices for upcoming shows at his facility. Featuring three members of the High Rider Band.
“For those who want to meet in advance to discuss areas that need attention, we are planning to meet at noon on April 23 at the Seymour Brewing Company and the Brooklyn Pizza Company,” Davidson said. “We will also have garbage bags and gloves available, so if anyone is interested in participating, please let me know and help spread the word.”
For those who know an area in the county you’d like to pick up, Davidson said you can do that too.
“Participants can share the progress we’ve made together by posting to a public Facebook group I created, Clean Our County, or using the hashtag #cleanourcounty.” she said. “‘Love this place, leave no trace’ — our county motto for 2022.”
