Evel Knievel has successfully completed an amazing stunt that could end his life while setting several distance records in the past.
Since then, modern madmen like Robbie Madison have set new distance records.
Robbie wasn’t happy just jumping over things. He had to up the stakes and jump on something…and jump (fall??) and get off of it.
I have to admit, this was pretty sick.
No one has actually physically flown a motorcycle from one country to another like Eddie Waredon did in 2009.
Clearing this jump required a number of legal disputes between the United States and Mexico, but they were eventually able to reconcile.

On June 27, 2009, people and members of the media from both countries lined the banks of the Rio Grande on both sides. Just below…then…the site of Asarco’s factory and chimney still stood, watching Eddie set sail. country to country. It’s literally a “coast to coast” jump.
KLAQ’s Courtney Nelson met Eddie on the river that morning for a little pre-jump chat and a ‘teaser’ jump. When he actually did it, he made it look easy.

It was a fun morning. As far as I know, Eddie has since retired from jumping. You never know what an adrenaline junkie will come up with next.
Is it a base jump from a toll road to Juarez? Or do you fly off the toll road over Mexico and back into US airspace in a crazy wingsuit?
