last week: Honorable Vote: West Point’s Code of Honor states, “Cadets will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate anyone who does.” Let’s try to keep ourselves and those we choose on the same path. Democracy is fragile. What happened on January 6th is unprecedented in our history. It makes no sense to elect a member of Congress who claims our presidential election was rigged. Many court judges ruled differently. Good character should be a high standard of government service. Let us stand against those who would plunge our United States into a slippery slope of self-destruction. Let us unite to restore basic civil society norms and address real needs with amicable solutions.
Future plans: Vote for the Common Good: Democracy Assassins Are Still Working. Templates that step away from the level playing field locally, statewide, and nationally when voting on city, county, state, and federal representatives who deserve to address current and future needs can be seen. Consider these virtues that political candidates represent our common interests: 1) Respectable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy; 2) Uphold democratic rules of elections, legislation and governance; 3) A servant leader willing to compromise for the betterment of all. 4) Skilled communicator. 5) Preparation and detailed orientation for finding solutions. 6) Support press freedom. 7) Do not introduce guns in advertisements.
