Ahead of the festive season, a group of South Crest residents cleaned Frey Street recreation park over the weekend.
Cleanup activities included cutting trees, removing weeds, and removing garbage.

Brave people cleared the river and removed the debris that plagued the stream.
The removal effort was made possible by the Southcrest Residents Association, CPF, and Afriforum Alberton.

According to Deidre de Carvalho, this was their first cleanup and a successful one.
She said she plans to continue with more cleanups to make the park a beautiful place for children and residents.

“The Southcrest Residents Association decided to clean up the park and issued a notice to residents, the CPF and AfriForum. I came out at the beginning of the week to mow the grass.”
