    Manta Ray, Dolphin, Ayuyu JROTC cadets assist in cemetery cleanup | News

    On Saturday, October 22, 2022, the Saipan Southern High School Manta Ray Battalion, along with the KHS, MHS, and Battalion of Marine Cadets, will wake up bright and early from 8:00 am to 11:00 am to help the community by doing a thorough cleanup. Demonstrated initiative to help. Chalan Kanoa Cemetery.

    During the cleanup, the school was divided into three groups to cover different areas of the cemetery.

    C/2LT Villauz, Shanna saw the cadets picking up trash in the rain during the cleanup and said,

    Towards the end of the cleanup, the cadets were able to fill in more than 70 bags of numerous weathered wreaths, damaged candles, old flowers, garbage, and other debris that covered several graves.

    The Mantaray Battalion cadets were delighted to be part of this community service experience as they were able to live the JROTC motto of “motivating young people to become better citizens”.

    The Manta Battalion cadets accomplished another day of teamwork to serve the community.

    A big thank you to Mrs. Doris Sanchez for letting us participate in cleaning up the cemetery this year!
