MANATEE — Over 200 people have signed up and will be attending Love it Like a Local Beach Cleanup on Saturday, October 15th.
of love like a local The campaign launched last year to encourage visitors to respect our community and provide helpful tips such as keeping our beaches and waterways clean, conserving energy, protecting wildlife and supporting local businesses. Hundreds of beach-loving, community-minded volunteers will come together this weekend to help clean up the coastal area of Manatee Beach. A post-party volunteer picnic follows.

Volunteers will be asked to meet at Coquina Beach South at 8:30am on Saturday morning The safety briefing will begin at 9am After the safety briefing, the volunteer group will travel to a location along Anna Maria Island where they will clean up Rubbish and debris that normally collects in public areas. Volunteers will return to Coquina Beach by noon, where they will have a picnic for those who helped with the event.
