Crandon Park and Marina are the focus of Community Cleanup Day as volunteers are expected to do their part to improve the environment and protect wildlife.
The Key Biscayne Community Foundation Citizen Science Project, in partnership with FillABag and Miami EcoAdventures, will invite volunteers for an impactful and unforgettable cleanup at 4000 Crandon Boulevard on Saturday, November 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. lead to the day
Participants are asked to bring their own kayaks or paddleboards and life jackets as they embark on excursions into the mangroves of Biscayne Bay and Crandon Park. Here we remove marine debris from critical habitats.
For attendees who do not own a kayak or paddleboard, Miami Eco Adventure will issue a limited number of items free of charge.
Reusable gloves, buckets and bags will be provided.
Participants will complete beach cleaning, sorting of collected marine debris, garbage collection, invasive plant removal and light landscaping, and cleaning day duties by a group of experienced local environmentalists Any other work necessary for this purpose is done on the water. .
