CANADA, Oct. 14 – As islanders continue to clean up in the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona, Prince Edward Island is expanding its support for free disposal of waste and debris.

Island Waste Management Corporation (IWMC) will waive corkage fees for clients disposing of food spoiled by power outages and storm debris through Saturday, October 29, 2022. For more information, please visit IWMC.

Additionally, debris pits for the disposal of fallen trees and branches will remain open through Saturday, October 29. There are 18 pits across the island that are open daily from 8am to 6pm. View map.
