FAIRVIEW, Tennessee (WSMV) – People spent most of the day clearing damage and debris on Thursday after straight winds blew through Wednesday afternoon.
Trees were snapped in half or split in the middle and placed in the yard with fallen power lines.
The Jingo Market gas station is still closed, but the crew was able to untangle the broken canopy left behind by the bad weather.
“It always seems like we fly over Fairview, but not this time.
She said Wolfe wasn’t at the store when the high winds blew, but then drove over to help with the process of picking up the debris.
“It was pretty scary considering I’ve lived here for 11 years and never seen anything like it,” said Wolf.
Some of the gas station damage appeared to have the gas pump canopy destroyed. No other damage was noticeable.
“The air unit on the top floor, which I noticed this morning, was hanging from the building. “Jefferson’s manager and owner, he got up there and pushed it back.”
Jingo Market canopy damage impacts Fairview gas station revenue.
“Consider that a lot of our sales are gas, and that’s a pretty big impact,” says Wolfe. “We are the first gas station here in Fairview. This town used to be called Shinkyo. So we are he one of the oldest gas stations here.”
Wolff said their doors are still open for customers, even though gas isn’t available.
The straight wind set three transformers on fire and cut power to several people, but said there was little power left on Thursday, according to the Williamson County Emergency Management Department.
