Cleanup is underway at the Prospect Lefferts Gardens apartment complex on Friday of debris generated during a partial building collapse.
The incident took place at the Tivoli Tower, a massive high-rise apartment complex that residents and elected officials say have had problems for years.
Officials said bricks fell from the front of the building and landed on the roofs of other apartments.
Attorney General Letitia James also met with residents and said her office was investigating whether the building’s water problem was related to the collapse.
Several city agencies were at the scene, including the FDNY, NYPD, Emergency Management Agency, and Building Administration. Authorities say the building is structurally sound, but his four apartments on the 22nd floor were damaged.
The Emergency Management Agency confirmed that four units were damaged and two families were evacuated from the building.
News 12 reportedly sped up repair work. They also say cranes will arrive on Sunday to remove the bricks.
