Cleaning, repairs and safety assessments are underway near Hope, British Columbia after a rockfall occurred in the Richmond Hill area on Thursday.
The incident was first reported to the District of Hope at approximately 12:40 pm and left numerous large rocks and small pieces of debris on the Flood Hope Road.
The affected road between Hope and Silver Creek was closed Thursday afternoon.
Residents were required to monitor the district twitter Facebook page for news about when we will reopen.
Heavy equipment and staff were dispatched to the site on Thursday afternoon, Chief Administrative Officer John Fortlockey told Global News.
He added that he was not aware of any injuries or vehicle damage from falling rocks.
