JACKSONVILLE, FL — Tropical Storm Nicole has come and gone. Here’s how our region is getting back to normal.

Duval County:
- The Duval County Local Emergency will end at 8:00 am on Saturday, November 12th.
- All public schools will reopen on Monday
- On Thursday, November 10th, curbside trash, recycling, bulk and yard trash collection has been cancelled. Makeup day will be on Saturday, November 12th.
- St. John’s River Ferry resumes service at 12:00 PM on Friday.
- The Skyway will be closed for Veterans Day.
- All Jacksonville Transit Authority bus routes have returned to their regular schedule starting today, along with ReadiRide, Express Select, Connexion and Connexion Plus paratransit services.
- The biggest concern is rough waves and tide conditions. Citizens are encouraged to stay away from standing water and the ocean.
- The following shelters will be closed by 5pm on Friday, November 11th.

St. John’s County:
- A1A has resumed. Emergency repairs have been completed by the Florida Department of Transportation. Drive carefully around Guana River Road and Carcaba Road.
- Sunshine Bus and paratransit transportation services will resume normal operations on Friday, November 11th.
- A voluntary evacuation order for all zones enacted in St. Johns County in response to Tropical Storm Nicole has been lifted with immediate effect.
- Authorities are assessing the damage and the crew is clearing the debris as quickly as possible. However, this process takes time. If you are a St. Johns County resident or business owner experiencing storm-related structural damage from Tropical Storm Nicol or have questions about permits, call the St. Johns County Building Services Structural Hotline at 904-827-6836. Please call.
- Historic Downtown parking lots will resume normal operations and will begin collecting parking fees on Friday, November 11 at 12:00 PM.
- St. John’s County Public Library System branches and book drops will reopen on Saturday, November 12 at 10:00 am and resume normal business hours. Notary, printing, copying, and fax service fees are waived for storm-related businesses.
- Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas National Monuments will be open to the public on Saturday, November 12th at 9am.
- St. John’s County Ocean and Fishing Pier facilities, including parking lots, pavilions, volleyball courts, and the Pier Gift Shop, will reopen on Saturday, November 12th. The actual fishing pier, both beach access locations, and Splash Park will remain closed until further notice.

Clay County:
- County leaders are asking sailors to avoid all waterways in Clay County. Debris in the water makes boating dangerous. Marines from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office are out at sea cleaning up any debris they find.
- Garbage collection was delayed on Thursday and crews are collecting those routes on Friday. If there is garbage in the garden, please take it out immediately. The county plans to pick up trash on Friday and Saturday, and next week a claw truck will pick up the remaining yard waste. You can also bring your garden waste to the Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility from November 11th to November 21st.
